On September 1, 2021, New Jersey fell victim to Hurricane Ida which was considered one of the deadliest storms in that state’s history. One of the worst hit communities was “Cranford”, as evidenced by the property damage and the fact first responders needed rafts to rescue residents from flooded homes.

Among the flooding victims included Anthony Lacorazza, a NPDF member as well as Italian American Police Society of NJ Executive Board Member,  is the Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge (ATSAIC) for the U.S. Secret Service (NY) and former NYPD Police Officer.

On Sept. 1, 2021, the Lacorazza family woke up to water rapidly entering the 1st floor of their one-family, split level home. It was only a matter of time that the flooding rose to their 2nd floor resulting in the total loss of their kitchen, living room, and dining room.2
