New Jersey Transit Police Department

Vincent Nardone began his law enforcement career in July of 1983 as a NJ State Human Services Police Officer stationed at Greystone Park State Psychiatric Hospital. In 1986 Vincent was sworn in as a Police Officer at NJ Transit Police. Nardone worked in several functions of this statewide agency where he distinguished himself for his work ethic and patrol abilities. Nardone was promoted to the rank of Detective where he conducted various criminal investigations and employee /police officer backgrounds.

In December of 2000, Nardone joined the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, which is the United States’ largest Prosecutor’s Office, as a Detective. Nardone was assigned to the Major Crimes-Homicide Unit. In this assignment, Nardone oversaw complex investigations involving vehicular homicides and deaths involving motor vehicle collisions. Nardone supervised local, county, state, and federal law enforcement officers in death by auto and high-profile cases and routinely instructed vehicular homicide-related classes at police academies. Nardone also served as the vehicle coordinator for the Prosecutor’s Office over purchasing, maintaining and keeping records on official agency vehicles.

Detective Nardone completed over 3,000 hours of professional training including Certified Collision Re-Constructionist, Arson, Homicide/Death Investigation, Interviewing, Internal Affairs, Ethics, Surveillance, Photography and Counter Surveillance Detection, Evidence, Domestic Violence, Money Laundering, Fictitious Documents, Computer Investigation, Electronic Recordation of Interviews, Auto Theft and Fraud Investigations, and Legal Aspects of Breath Alcohol Techniques.

In 2013, Nardone retired from the Prosecutor’s Office and became the Director of Executive Security & Transportation for a NYC based corporation. In this position, Nardone provided security and transportation for company executives as well as coordinated air travel and off-site events at various venues. In 2016, Nardone joined the Kimmerlie Group in Morristown, where he served as the Manager of Transportation and Facilities.

In 2017, Nardone returned to his home at NJ Transit Police Department to serve as the Facilities Systems Supervisor. Over the past few years, his duties and responsibilities have continually increased to oversee 120 security officers, electronic alarm systems and corporate wide electronic access card systems. In his current position as the Manager of the NJ Transit Police Support Services Division, Nardone oversees this critical group which provides operational and logistical support to the Police Department and Emergency Management Unit.

Throughout his career, Nardone has been a leader and active member of many law enforcement organizations. Member/Past Delegate: New Jersey State PBA, Executive Director: Italian American Police Society Of New Jersey, Member: New Jersey Honor Legion, Member: International Police Association, Member: Essex County Traffic Officers Association, Member: Union County Traffic Officers Association, Member: New Jersey Traffic Officers Association, Co-Chairman: Newark Archdiocese Blue Mass Committee and Executive Vice President/Commissioner of Hunterdon County Crime Stoppers.

In his position as the Executive Director of the Italian American Police Society of NJ, Nardone oversees the Fund Raising of the organization as well as several of its major events. Nardone is passionate about his family, heritage and being a law enforcement officer.
