N.J. State Park Police

Charles Sbarra began his law enforcement career in 2011 as a Class One Special Police Officer in the Ocean City Police Department. After working as a Class One Special Officer for two summers, Sbarra was offered a Class Two Special Police Officer position.  Sbarra attended the  Cape May County Police Academy to attend the Basic Course for Police Officers. Sbarra joined  the Hammonton Police Department in 2013 as a police officer. As a police officer in  in Hammonton Sbarra was assigned to the patrol bureau as well as the Court Officer.  Sbarra enjoyed teaching Law Enforcement Against Drugs (L.E.A.D) at the Hammonton Elementary School.  Sbarra, a big proponent of Community Policing, organized the Hammonton’s first ever Coffee with a Cop event. In addition, Sbarra served on the Hammonton Drug Alliance as a Police Department Liaison and the National Night Out Committee.

 

In 2019 left to join the New Jersey State Park Police. In addition to being a NJ State Park Police Officer Sbarra is the Emergency Management Liaison for Southern New Jersey Region and a member of the department’s Rifle Team.

 

Sbarra is an active member of the community and is a member of many clubs in Hammonton including the Sons of Italy, where I serve as Historian, The Knights of Columbus, and the Hammonton Kiwanis Club. Sbarra has served as a State Officer in the Grand Lodge of the NJ State Son’s of Italy and has been a long-time member of the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey.
