I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Executive Board members who helped make this year's party a huge success. Thanks to all of the members who helped sort toys in the cold DPW yard in Wood-Ridge on Thursday night and to all of the members and their families that were on hand to host the 300 plus attendees at the party. A special thanks to Tony Magnotta for collecting toys in Milburn and to John Reilek for donating candy canes to all of the attendees. Of course thanks are in order to Jerry Onnembo and Joe Rutigliano for coordinating the entire toy drive. Finally a special thanks to Tom Zaph for his personal donation of $1,000 to help us purchase toys. . . . Bill Schievella
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Columbus Day. Today our organization celebrated its Italian American pride by participating in the NYC Columbus Day Parade. Our organization looked sharp on 5th Avenue with many marchers, dozens of police motorcycles, police specialty vehicles and family members. Our 2012 Parade Queen Miss Catherine Nardone looked beautiful along with NJ Transit Police Chief Chris Trucillo who was our 2012 Parade Grand Marshal. I would like to thank our brothers and sisters from the NYPD Columbia Association for their hospitality and welcome our friends from the Hartford Police Department Italian Officers Association who came down to march with us. A special thanks goes to Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari for his outstanding support of today’s event and to our friend Enzo from La Reggia Restaurant in Secaucus who prepared us a terrific Columbus Day luncheon after the parade. I am very proud to march with the finest cops in New Jersey and I am honored to be your President. Fraternally yours, William Schievella President
We would like to thank Vinnie Nardone and his committee for an outstanding job on yesterday's IAPSNJ Pool Party & Picnic. It was a lot of work by the committee over two days which resulted in a successful event. The food was excellent and Chef Gino's menu of burgers, franks, sausage and pepper sandwiches, steaks, ribs, clams and shrimp ka bobs left everyone full and happy. Many thanks to Vinnie Nardone, Pete Serrone, Nick Incanella, Tony Magnotta, Chef Gino, Fire Chief Pete and John Marcelli. Thanks to Rose & Tim Minoughan for the activities for the children and pie eating contest. Thanks to Joe Simonetti for selling the shirts and society merchandise. Thanks for our friends at Gargiulio & Sons Produce Company for their generosity!
