| Ingredients:
12 pears - peeled with stem on 1 bottle of red wine (Vintage 2003 Trinchero Family Cabernet Sovignon) 1 (equal amount of water as wine) 1 vanilla bean 2 cinnamon sticks 1 pinch of ground cloves 1/2 lemon rind 2 cups of sugar 2 bay leaves |
| Instructions:
Bring the wine & water to boil. Split the vanilla bean and add in to the mixture. Simmer. Add in the cimmamon sticks, clove, lemon rind, and bay leaves. Add in the sugar. Stir well to dissolve the sugar. Add in the pears and simmer until tender. Remove the pears and continue to reduce the liquid down to a syrup |
